The C West Basin Storage Reservoir project is one of the South Florida Water Management District’s (SFWMD) State-Expedited Projects. In the Corps and SFWMD decided SFWMD would lead the design and construction of the C close coordination with the Corps. SFWMD divided the design into 6 Contract Packages. The Brazos River Authority was the first agency in the country to be tasked with managing the water resources of an entire river basin. The BRA water supply system includes 11 reservoirs scattered across square-mile river basin. Three of the man-made lakes were built, and are owned and operated, by the BRA.
In addition, a review of the legal, institutional and financial framework of TVA is analyzed. This work examines the effectiveness of a newly-developed optimization framework for river basin management.
